Shape the Face of Cancer Treatment at Luminate Medical
Luminate Medical is on a mission to change the way we experience cancer care. We design and build products that which revolutionise the patient experience of cancer treatment by eliminating the side effects of cancer treatment. Our first product is a wearable medical device to prevent hair loss caused by cancer chemotherapy. Luminate's Lily device is a portable, comfortable, and more effective solution to preventing chemotherapy included hair loss than the current standard.
We’re looking for an R&D Technician/Product Builder to become the next key player in our team as we look to build out our manufacturing capability. You will be the key link between design and production - taking advantage and using innovative ideas and making them into a physical reality. Working closely with our R&D engineering group, you will be the the point of contact for production, materials, and testing. You will also work closely with the lab manager on maintaining our lab and its equipment.

What You Will Do:

Drive patient-focused cancer care products from concept to physical reality as a prototype builder at Luminate:
-
Use benchtop tools and manufacturing techniques such as 3D printing, vacuum forming, heat sealing, soldering and ultrasonic welding to build prototypes to bring R&D concepts to life.

Build product for verification testing, validation testing and clinical use as per work instructions.

Support R&D Engineers by participating in brainstorms and design reviews with a focus on design for manufacture and design for assembly inputs.

Take a methodical approach to ensure our products meet the highest production standards:

Perform inspections and measurements on components and products.

Execute test methods and record results as per test protocols.

Report feedback from production and testing to the R&D team.

Assist the lab manager to ensure equipment is calibrated and preventative maintenance is up to date, safety procedures are followed, and necessary consumables and equipment are in-stock.

Review and update procedures as necessary.

Take responsibility for the delivery of work package tasks in a timely fashion by working closely with Senior R&D Team members.

Experience Requirements – The Ideal Candidate Must Have:

2 years of medical device production experience.
-
Flexibility, persistence, resourcefulness and a drive to succeed.

Solidworks (or similar), 3D CAD Proficiency.

Proficient in Microsoft Office; outlook, word and excel.

Enjoy making things and working with their hands.
-
Enjoy participating in a team environment, all working towards a common goal.
Experience Advantages – It Would be Advantageous to Have:

A qualification in medical device manufacturing.

A qualification in a technical background.

Experience working in a role which require compliance to Good Manufacturing Practice or a Quality Management System.

Experience working with rapid prototyping techniques including 3D printing, vacuum forming, heat sealing.

Taken on hands-on projects outside of work.
